Bobsledding is awesome, especially when you make a bobsled of your own!

This is old news to those involved (I'm a bit late in writing this up), but this fact does not change how awesome the Ardent bobsledding team is. Started about a month and a half ago, the Ardent bobsledding team includes anyone who can make a bobsled, ride it (without getting hurt) and send photos to the king! Quite simple really, so what are you waiting for?

When originally created, the Ardent Bobsled Version One was really only a joke. I (King Kevin I) was sitting around bored with a roll of duct tape in my friend Citizen Heinz's garage. I found a hand truck laying about and so I decided to duct tape it to a skateboard and see if it could be ridden. As I worked on this "thing" I really had no goal in mind, I was really just putting together things to see how ridable they would be. As it turns out this was incredibly ridable, not to mention fun.

Here's the sled from the back. Lovely Ardent flag, no?

Sled front shot, see all of the extravagant duct tape work. Also notice the whiffle bat used for steering. Now that's engineering!

Your king atop the sled, preparing for a trip down a nearby hill. I expect photos like this from fellow bobsledders.

Action shot, you can tell by the blur. Included in the photo is King Kevin I and Citizen Leyh

Finally, here's the sled being carried up the hill. The hand truck base made this easy.

Well, I sincerely hope you folks enjoyed those photos. Now go out there and make a sled of your own and e-mail me pictures! Let's get some bobsledding going, be it hot, cold, raining, snowing, or whatever else where you live!
